Miyajima (Hiroshima)

Gone to Miyajima (an island in Hiroshima) last Golden Week. So, what is Golden Week? Basically it is called "golden" because there are 4 public holiday straight in a week. Yes, thats mean all people are not working for 4 days straight! It's holiday time!

Well what is so special on this island? The dramatic gate (torii) of Itsukushima Shrine is one of Japan's most popular tourist attractions. The gate has existed since 1168, eventhough the date carved on the gate is dates back to 1875.
